About my teaching:

I am very passionate about what I do!  I love to see children enjoy learning!  This year we will be following the Paris ISD curriculum and incorporating Daily Cafe.  I am so excited about this type of teaching!  I am NOT a worksheet teacher and believe that books create readers not worksheets!   I have worked most of the summer creating a class library based on genres and will allow students to read books that they ENJOY instead of books they are told to read.  I believe that when students are allowed to read what they enjoy they will develop the skills they need to become better readers.  Our classroom will be like a reading  workshop where students guide their own learning!

Personal Information:

I am the mother of two wonderful children. Madisyn is an 11th grader at Paris High School and Parker is a 10th grader at Paris High School.  This is my 11th year to teach Paris ISD and I love it!  I taught first grade for 2 years, 5 years in 3rd grade, and 4th grade for 3 years.  I was honored as  Aikin teacher of the year for 2014!  I love reading and introducing children to the joys of reading!  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, scrapbooking, watching sports, and playing with my miniature dauchaund named Bella.
